Licensed Practical Nurse OR Internship – Winter 2027

About the role

This full‑time paid 16‑to‑18‑week OR LPN Internship trains licensed practical nurses in perioperative scrub duties across multiple surgical specialties and LVHN campuses. Interns will gain hands‑on experience and complete the AORN Perioperative 101 Core Curriculum.

Key responsibilities

• Scrub and circulate in the operating room to ensure patient safety and maintain the sterile field.
• Perform surgical counts, prepare case carts, and manage sterile supplies and equipment.
• Assist the surgeon by anticipating needs and handling instruments during procedures.
• Conduct in‑between case turnover cleaning and ensure equipment functionality.

Required profile

• Technical School Diploma LPN Program with less than 1 year of experience.
• Licensed Practical Nurse (PA) certification and Basic Life Support certification (American Heart Association, Pennsylvania).
• Ability to lift and carry 40‑50 lb, stand/walk for long periods, and perform patient transfers.
• Effective communication, adaptability to change, and strong time‑management skills.
