Licensed Clinical Social Worker – Psych IOP – Full Time

About the role

This position provides advanced clinical social work services in a medical setting, focusing on the assessment and treatment of mental, emotional, behavioral, and addictive disorders. The LCSW will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement comprehensive discharge plans and support patients and families throughout their care journey.

Key responsibilities

• Interview and assess patients, assisting throughout the patient care plan.
• Identify and provide resources to patients and families.
• Maintain patient records and communicate critical information to the medical team.
• Participate in on‑call rotation.
• Adapt communication style to respect patient privacy and needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all policies and standards.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW).
• Minimum 5 years of related experience, preferably in medical social work.
• Current Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license in the state of practice.
• Licensure or certification as a sex therapist may be required depending on assignment.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of common disease entities, medical terminology, and psychosocial impacts of illness.
• Excellent psychotherapeutic and interpersonal skills.
• Advanced understanding of acute and chronic care settings and managed‑care programs (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance).
• Proficiency with computers, software, and web‑based applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication, able to present information clearly to diverse audiences.
