Legal Consultant - Legal Advisory & AI

About the role

Protiviti is hiring a Legal Consultant for its growing Legal Consulting team in Chicago, with additional locations listed in Atlanta, Austin, Charlotte, Dallas, Miami and Tampa. As a consultant you will receive training and mentorship and contribute across legal advisory, legal operations, department modernization, AI-enabled legal work, contracts, investigations and litigation support. The role is hybrid, combining in-person work in local offices and client sites with remote work.

Key responsibilities

• Interview stakeholders, gather information and document findings
• Analyze contract processes, contract information and operational data
• Prepare process maps, playbooks, reports, presentations and executive summaries
• Support investigations, litigation support, contracts, legal operations and e-discovery when needed
• Evaluate and interpret data, and coordinate tasks among attorneys, business professionals and technology teams
• Help assess legal department operations and technology use, and support AI adoption, process design, testing, documentation and governance

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies, Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Finance, Accounting, Criminal Justice or a related discipline
• One or more years of relevant professional, internship or project experience
• Preferred: exposure to consulting, in-house legal departments, legal operations, contracts, investigations, litigation support, compliance or technology
• Preferred: exposure to legal technology, contract lifecycle, e-discovery, AI-enabled workflows or legal department transformation
• A JD, paralegal credential, CAPM or relevant technology certification may be helpful but is not required

Required skills

• Microsoft Office proficiency
• Analytical, research and problem-solving skills
• Clear written and oral communication and strong organization
• Ability to produce accurate, reviewable documentation and take feedback

What we offer

• Salary range of $66,000-$100,000, with a bonus target of $2,000
