Lead Systems Engineer/Architect (TS/SCI)

About the role

Parsons is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer/Architect to join its Norfolk, VA team supporting a high‑visibility Navy program. The role serves as a senior technical leader and subject‑matter expert, ensuring compliance with engineering processes, standards, and quality across the project.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain MBSE behavioral, structural, and parametric models using SysML to create a single source of engineering truth.
• Design integration strategies and orchestrate data flows between Windows and Linux environments, including configuring Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) for Ubuntu and RHEL workloads.
• Architect, deploy, and manage container configurations with Docker CE and Kubernetes for scaling mission‑critical components.
• Map high‑level system requirements to model parameters, automate traceability to software implementation, and produce technical specifications and architectural diagrams.
• Provide technical counsel to the Lead Government Engineer and program partners, represent the program at technical reviews, and participate in SAFe PI planning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer/Systems Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in software/systems engineering or technical architecture, with leadership of complex systems engineering efforts.
• U.S. citizenship and an active Top Secret SCI clearance.

Required skills

• SysML and Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
• Windows, Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu) and Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL).
• Docker CE and Kubernetes (including local clusters such as K3s, Minikube).
• Interface Control Documents (ICDs), TCP/IP, UDP, and API integration.
• Automation scripting with Bash, PowerShell, or Python.
