About the role
Commonwealth Fusion Systems is seeking a Lead RF Electro‑Mechanical Technician to join a multidisciplinary team focused on accelerating fusion energy development. The role bridges R&D and manufacturing, translating engineering priorities into hands‑on assembly and testing activities.
Key responsibilities
- Assemble complex RF transmitter components using hand and power tools.
- Build and wire Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) cabinets and integrate sensors and mechanical subsystems.
- Work safely with 480 V high‑voltage systems and operate RF/electrical test equipment to validate builds.
- Perform precision tasks such as plumbing, wiring, and soldering while maintaining cleanliness and documentation.
- Collaborate with technicians and equipment operators during I&C commissioning and troubleshooting.
- Ensure all activities follow safety and quality standards and report progress to supervisors.
Required profile
- High school diploma, technical school certificate, or equivalent military technical training.
- Minimum 5 years of experience using hand/power tools, machine‑shop equipment, and providing technical support.
- Strong communication skills and ability to lead a small technician team.
