Lead IT Auditor

About the role

We have a phenomenal and rare opportunity for a Lead IT Auditor on the FedCash Audit Team at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco. The team leads nationwide assurance efforts for FedCash Services, including the NextGen Program, and provides oversight and training to audit teams across the United States.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and review moderate to high‑risk audit work performed by team members, ensuring compliance with internal and external policies.
• Define risk‑based audit scope, objectives, timeframes and budgets for district‑focused audits.
• Execute approved audit programs, evaluating IT governance, controls, and operational effectiveness.
• Identify, assess and challenge audit exceptions, presenting clear recommendations to management.
• Prepare and deliver written audit reports and appraise corrective actions taken.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) required within 24 months of hire.
• Five or more years of experience as an internal auditor, preferably in financial services or government.
• Strong communication skills and ability to resolve conflicts.
• US citizenship or Green Card holder.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience using data analytics software.
• Knowledge of general IT controls and risk management frameworks (COSO, IPPF).
