Lead Customer Service Representative

About the role

Circle K is hiring a Lead Customer Service Representative for its store in Akron, Ohio (488 East Waterloo Road). The position is full time with flexible shifts covering days, evenings, overnight and weekends. It combines customer service, cashier duties, merchandising and light housekeeping, and may include supervising customer service staff when the Store Assistant Manager is absent.

Key responsibilities

• Provide prompt, courteous customer service, greet customers and give helpful suggestions
• Ring up sales accurately, handle cash, checks and other payments, and operate the fuel console, lottery machines, money order machine and telecom transactions
• Keep the store clean, inspect equipment for safety and contact maintenance for repairs
• Complete build-to orders, receive and verify deliveries, keep stock rotated and place advertising and pricing signage
• Control merchandise, cash shortages and inventory, monitor shift sales and daily close-outs, and report discrepancies to the Store Manager
• Supervise customer service staff in the absence of the Store Assistant Manager, coach new hires, adjust staffing to reduce waiting times and direct the fast food service area
• Know the gasoline pricing strategy and change prices correctly
• Report incidents such as injuries, theft or property damage, and record timekeeping and end-of-shift reports

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Retail sales experience preferred
• Ability to arrive on time and work as scheduled
• Ability to perform the physical demands, including lifting up to 30 pounds overhead and 50 pounds to waist, standing and walking for a full shift, and occasional exposure to cold temperatures

Required skills

• Operating a cash register and computer keyboard
• Basic arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
• Ability to communicate clearly and work with minimal direction

Hiring range: $15.50 to $16.00 per hour.
