Lead AI Engineer – Dublin, CA or US Remote

About the role

Reporting to the VP of Information Security & DevOps, the Lead AI Engineer owns both the architecture and adoption of internal AI tooling at SavvyMoney, a fast‑growing fintech serving 1,600+ banking partners.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, build, and ship production AI systems (RAG pipelines, agent loops, LLM gateway, observability, cost control).
• Define reference architectures and prototype first working versions.
• Run intake sessions with business and executive stakeholders, decide build vs. buy, and own UAT acceptance.
• Recruit, train, and manage a network of AI champions across business units.
• Design and deliver role‑specific AI literacy curricula and manage training vendors.
• Own internal communications (Slack channel, newsletter, town halls) and run office‑hours for friction removal.
• Track adoption telemetry, report metrics to executive reviews, and drive policy rollout and tool licensing.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including production LLM systems you have architected and shipped.
• Deep hands‑on proficiency in Python and cloud‑native AWS development with strong opinions on evaluation, cost‑per‑outcome, latency, and prompt‑injection defense.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; proven ability to drive organization‑wide behavior change.
• Experience running a champions network or community of practice at scale (500+ employees).
