Law Enforcement Sergeant – Denver

About the role

The Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City’s Denver branch is seeking a self‑motivated Law Enforcement Sergeant to lead and mentor its security team. This position provides tactical direction during shift operations and serves as the primary liaison between management and front‑line officers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate law‑enforcement staff on post assignments, patrols, access control, screening, surveillance, and special missions.
• Respond to disturbances, emergencies, and life‑threatening situations, applying appropriate force and making critical on‑scene decisions.
• Operate and monitor security systems including CCTV, integrated access control, alarm systems, X‑ray machines, metal detectors, biometric readers, radio communications, fire alarms, public address systems, and fire extinguishers.
• Provide mentorship, training, and oversight to less‑experienced officers, including roles such as Canine Handler, Instructor, and Field Training Officer.
• Prepare detailed incident reports, complete departmental documentation, and assist with administrative tasks.
• Assume shift leadership in the absence of a supervisor and ensure compliance with policies and equipment readiness.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of relevant law‑enforcement or security experience.
• High school diploma or GED; must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Strong understanding of business processes and the ability to apply expertise in a banking environment.
