About the role
The Landscape Laborer supports the Facilities Management department by preparing and maintaining landscaped areas across Georgetown University's campuses. This full‑time, on‑site role ensures the grounds remain attractive, safe, and functional for students, staff, and visitors.
Key responsibilities
- Mow, trim, edge, and weed lawns and landscaped areas.
- Irrigate lawns, mulching, reactivate flower beds and tree saucers.
- Lay sod and assist with pesticide application.
- Perform seasonal landscape tasks and respond to service requests such as storm‑drain maintenance.
- Address emergency landscape issues as needed.
- Use standard landscaping tools, equipment, and materials while following safety regulations.
Required profile
- High school diploma or completion of the tenth grade.
- At least two years of experience in general or landscape labor work.
- Valid driver’s permit from Maryland, District of Columbia, or Virginia.
