Labor & Delivery RN - Full Time Nights

Jupiter Medical Center, ranked #1 for safety, quality and patient satisfaction, is hiring a full-time Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse for its nights shift. The hospital is the only one in Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie and Indian River counties to receive a 4-star quality and safety rating from CMS.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing; BSN preferred but not required.
• Current RN licensure in the state of Florida.
• Two years of Labor and Delivery experience.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers.
• ACLS certification through the American Heart Association for Healthcare Providers, renewed every 2 years.
• NRP certification through the American Academy of Pediatrics, renewed every 2 years.
• National Certification in Specialty preferred; fetal monitoring education completed every 2 years.

Key responsibilities

• Apply nursing process and evidence-based practices to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, evaluate and modify patient care.
• Practice autonomously within professional nursing standards, the ANA Code of Ethics and the ANA Bill of Rights, in line with the Florida Nursing Practice Act and hospital policy.
• Ensure quality of nursing services through quality assurance or performance improvement initiatives.
• Provide collaborative, individualized care and lead the interdisciplinary team to improve patient outcomes.
• Act as educator to peers, patients and families, and communicate needed resources or equipment to management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The position also requires completion of annual Joint Commission mandatory education, in-service and health requirements, TB/PPD surveillance, and maintenance of required licenses and certifications.
