Lab Technician I – Catalyst Production

About the role
Join BASF’s Catalyst division in Savannah, GA as a Lab Technician I. You will perform quality‑control testing on catalyst products, supporting the production of fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) catalysts and related materials.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct quality‑control testing according to documented analytical procedures.
- Set up, calibrate and operate laboratory instrumentation such as analytical balances, pH and ion meters, microwave moisture and digestion ovens, surface‑area analyzers, atomic absorption, X‑ray fluorescence, X‑ray diffraction and particle‑size analyzers.
- Operate computer‑controlled instruments, store and extract data using laboratory software.
- Prepare solutions, standards and buffers for analytical work.
- Prepare quality‑control production samples including microspheres, zeolites, FCC catalysts and alumina.
Required profile
- High School Diploma or GED with 2‑3 years of laboratory experience, or an Associate/Bachelor degree in chemistry, biology or a related field.
- Familiarity with laboratory analysis and basic math calculations.
- Willingness to work 12‑hour rotating shifts (day/night).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lb and carry up to 25 lb.
