Junior Cyber Intelligence Analyst

About the role

Amentum is hiring Junior Cyber Intelligence Analysts to support its U.S. Department of Energy contract, based in the Washington, D.C. area. The schedule is five days a week, eight hours. The analyst provides cyber intelligence services that deliver timely, actionable threat intelligence on hostile nation-states, cyber adversaries and criminals targeting U.S. energy sector partners.

Key responsibilities

• Provide a wide range of cyber intelligence services delivering timely, actionable threat intelligence on hostile nation-states, cyber adversaries and criminals.
• Support the U.S. Department of Energy contract.
• Follow Amentum's safety, quality and procedure-compliance policies, including safety training, emergency response participation and adherence to operational, safety, quality and environmental requirements.

Required profile

• 2 to 4 years supporting cybersecurity, cyber intelligence, SOC operations, incident response or threat analysis.
• Active TS/SCI or DOE Q#javelin security clearance required.
• Security clearance is required; the position is not safety-sensitive.
• Drug-free workplace; employment is contingent on passing a drug screening, which may include pre-hire screening for marijuana and other federally controlled substances because Amentum is a federal contractor.

Required skills

• Experience with SIEM platforms such as Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, QRadar or Elastic.
• Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK, the NIST Cybersecurity Framework and the RMF.
• Ability to obtain security clearance within six months.
