Senior Solutions Architect (Top Secret)

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Top-Secret cleared Solutions Architect / Technical Lead to join its team in Washington, DC. The role leads a dynamic engineering team developing and operating critical national security enterprise applications, with work centered on AWS cloud architecture, AI development and DevOps within a SAFe Agile framework.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end software development, architectural design, planning and implementation, acting independently on complex technical challenges
• Design, integrate and deploy AI-driven capabilities and resilient cloud solutions on AWS
• Build, maintain and optimize automated CI/CD pipelines using Git and GitLab
• Champion SAFe Agile and Scrum across multi-disciplinary engineering teams
• Support the Authority to Operate (ATO) and security accreditation processes
• Lead the technical DevSecOps team and mentor developers
• Plan and lead major technology assignments, evaluate results and recommend changes

Required profile

• Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
• Minimum of 8 years of experience (certifications or past work may substitute for years of experience)
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical discipline; additional experience may substitute for the degree
• Experience leading multiple teams in technical design and implementation

• Java, Spring, Node.js, Go, TypeScript.NET and related frameworks
• Software design patterns, systems design and SDLC (Agile)
• Development tools: Git, Nexus, SonarQube, JIRA, Confluence, Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform
• Frontend, backend and API design; IaC in the cloud
• Preferred: AWS certifications, Splunk, JIRA triggers and SLAs, Confluence, ISSO/ATO process, AWS Workspaces
