Junior Software Developer (Top-Secret Cleared)

About the role

Amentum is looking for a Top-Secret cleared Software Developer to join its Team 01 in Washington, DC. The team works in an organization whose mission is to accelerate operations through data and analytical insights, using agile methods to provide enhanced reporting and global search capabilities for task management and national intelligence priorities. The developer helps build on-premises and cloud-based applications for large-scale data analysis projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test and debug new software and enhancements to existing software
• Work with technical staff to understand and resolve software problems, and handle customer complaints and improvement suggestions
• Assist in writing software user manuals
• Handle desktop design, security lockdown implementation, integration with standard software packages and automated patching and deployment tools
• Document and train on automating application and configuration deployments and updates
• Apply expertise across several complex assignments, with latitude in choosing approaches

Required profile

• Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Business or a related field; additional experience may substitute for the degree
• Minimum of 1 year of combined experience
• Experience developing, testing and deploying back-end software in languages such as Java, JavaScript, Go, Python, TypeScript and .NET, including Java with the latest JDK
• Experience with backend frameworks such as Spring, Node.js, AngularJS, React, Next.js, Hibernate and Struts
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle (Agile), design patterns and antipatterns, and development tools (git, IDEs, code quality tools)
• Drug-free workplace; employment is contingent on passing a drug screen, which may include pre-hire screening for marijuana and other federally controlled substances

Required skills

• Preferred: front-end JavaScript (ES6+), React, Next.js, Tailwind CSS, Material UI, RESTful design
• Preferred: backend Node.js, Express, NestJS, NPM, Go, Java 8, SOAP, Maven and Gradle
• Preferred: Git, Jira, Confluence, SAST (SonarQube, GitLab SAST), unit and integration testing (Jest, Mocha, Chai)
• Preferred: SAFe Agile principles

• Salary range of $100,000 - $115,000
