IT Systems Engineer

About the role

The IT Systems Engineer will manage and improve Santander's enterprise infrastructure, covering identity services, virtualization, storage, backup, monitoring, and end‑user computing. The role ensures stability, security, and regulatory compliance while supporting strategic transformation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Administer core infrastructure components such as Active Directory, GPOs, DNS/DHCP, PKI and Duo MFA.
• Manage virtualization and end‑user environments (VMware, Citrix VDI, RDS) and support on‑premises Exchange.
• Maintain Windows Server platforms, SAN storage, and file services (DFS) to ensure performance and availability.
• Oversee backup and disaster‑recovery solutions (Veeam, Zerto; Avamar/Data Domain a plus), including testing and failover readiness.
• Monitor systems and execute patch management across servers and endpoints (SolarWinds, BigFix a plus).
• Ensure technology lifecycle compliance, asset tracking (CMDB) and alignment with enterprise standards.
• Support security and risk initiatives, including audits, RCSA and infrastructure hardening.
• Administer development and test environments and assist with deployment validation.
• Lead infrastructure modernization, platform migrations and decommissioning projects.
• Continuously improve disaster recovery, resilience and security posture.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of IT experience, preferably in system administration or technical support.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Detail‑oriented, able to thrive in a fast‑paced environment and quickly learn new technologies.
