IT Support Engineer - GMP Manufacturing
NSC Global · San Francisco
Job description
About the role
NSC Global is looking for an IT Support Engineer to provide dedicated on-site support in a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) manufacturing environment. The role supports manufacturing and business users by keeping workplace technology, production-supporting systems, network connectivity and critical peripheral devices available and performing. Because much of the technology is in controlled manufacturing areas, a consistent on-site presence is required.
Key responsibilities
- Provide deskside and walk-up support for Windows desktops, laptops, mobile devices and Microsoft 365 applications.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, operating system and user-related issues.
- Manage incidents and service requests through ServiceNow, Jira Service Management or similar ITSM platforms.
- Administer Active Directory, including onboarding, offboarding, password resets, access provisioning and group management.
- Support printers, Zebra and Datamax label printers, barcode scanners and other production-floor peripherals.
- Troubleshoot wired and wireless network connectivity, including cabling, patching, endpoint connectivity and WLAN access.
- Maintain IT asset records and coordinate with infrastructure, networking, application and remote support teams on escalated issues.
- Document support activities and comply with operational, security and regulatory requirements.
Required profile
- Experience providing end-user computing and desktop support in enterprise environments.
- Experience administering Active Directory user accounts and permissions.
- Experience supporting printers, Zebra label printers, Datamax printers, barcode scanners and related manufacturing peripherals.
- Knowledge of IT asset management and hardware lifecycle processes.
- Preferred: experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device or other highly regulated environments; understanding of GMP and controlled-area practices; degree or diploma in IT or a related field.
Required skills
- Windows, desktop hardware and Microsoft 365.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow, Jira Service Management or similar ticketing systems.
- LAN, WAN and wireless networking concepts.
- Strong troubleshooting, customer service and communication skills.
