Senior IT Systems Administrator

About the role

Waabi, a Physical AI company behind autonomous trucks and robotaxis, is hiring a Senior IT Systems Administrator for its San Francisco, CA site. This is a high-ownership, onsite role within the IT Operations team, focused on giving employees reliable, secure and efficient technology experiences. You will support day-to-day IT operations, manage endpoints and identity systems, troubleshoot complex issues, and help scale IT operations across all Waabi locations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide onsite technical support for employees at the San Francisco location, including hardware, software, networking and access issues, and serve as a trusted IT partner for local teams
• Support remote users and take part in the IT support on-call rotation
• Manage incidents and requests through Jira Service Management and maintain technical documentation and standard operating procedures
• Administer endpoint management platforms for Windows, macOS and Linux, including device enrollment, configuration profiles, security policies, application deployment and compliance reporting
• Support zero-touch deployment (Windows Autopilot, Apple Business Manager), mobile device management and secure BYOD workflows
• Manage user lifecycle, identity and access platforms (Okta, Google Workspace or similar), group management, permissions, SSO integrations and SaaS access
• Own day-to-day IT operations for the office, including workstations, printers, conference room technology, network troubleshooting and physical infrastructure
• Administer, patch and maintain Linux servers and workstations, using Bash/Python scripting, and monitor system health and logs
• Support endpoint security, compliance monitoring, audits and security remediation
• Identify process improvements and automation opportunities to support company growth

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in IT systems administration, desktop support or IT operations
• Experience supporting Windows and macOS in a business setting, and onsite office infrastructure including networking, printers and conferencing systems
• Experience with a multi-site organization with onsite and remote users
• Ability to prioritize multiple requests while maintaining excellent customer service
• Willingness to join an IT support on-call rotation and to lift and move up to about 50 pounds
• Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth technology environment

Required skills

• Endpoint management tools such as Microsoft Intune, JumpCloud or Jamf
• Identity and access management, including SSO integrations with SAML and SCIM
• Scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash, Python)
• Familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001 or SOC 2

• US yearly salary range of $115,000 - $135,000 USD
