Vice President - Product
nium · San Francisco
Job description
About the role
Nium, a global leader in real-time, cross-border payments, is looking for a VP of Product to lead the strategy, commercial performance and end-to-end evolution of its global payments product portfolio, with a focus on payments infrastructure, card issuance and stablecoins/digital assets. Reporting directly to the CEO, the role acts as a mini-GM and true product owner, accountable for market fit, go-to-market readiness, adoption, revenue, margin and long-term performance. It sits at the intersection of product, technology, commercial strategy, financial infrastructure and regulation.
Key responsibilities
- Own the full product lifecycle, from discovery and business case through roadmap, build, launch, go-to-market, adoption, optimization and retirement.
- Set product vision, strategy and roadmap, partnering with the CEO and executive leadership, and represent Product in board-level and key customer discussions.
- Shape business cases, pricing, packaging and monetization, and manage performance against revenue, volume, margin, adoption, retention and ROI.
- Work with Sales, Marketing, Solutions and Customer Success to define segments, value propositions, go-to-market plans and commercial enablement.
- Build a customer-insight engine through direct engagement, win/loss analysis and research, and maintain a view of the competitive landscape.
- Use AI tools fluently and responsibly within security and governance controls.
- Lead and scale a product organization with strong standards for discovery, prioritization and accountability.
- Drive the evolution of cross-border payments, real-time rails, collections, FX, accounts/wallets and settlement infrastructure.
- Lead the card-issuance platform strategy and the stablecoin and digital-asset product strategy.
- Champion an API-first platform strategy with Engineering and Architecture, and partner with Compliance, Legal, Treasury, Risk, Network and Operations across markets.
Required profile
- Significant product leadership experience in fintech, payments, banking infrastructure, card networks or financial technology, including leading senior product teams.
- Product-owner and mini-GM mindset, with proven commercial ownership of pricing, revenue, margin and adoption.
- Experience partnering with Sales and Marketing on segments, value propositions and growth plans.
- Experience building API-first B2B or enterprise platforms and taking products from 0 to 1 and scaling them globally.
- Experience in highly regulated environments and with Compliance, Legal, Risk, Treasury, banks and card networks.
- Strong executive presence and a global mindset.
Required skills
- Deep understanding of payments infrastructure and money movement, including cross-border and real-time payments, payment rails, FX, treasury, accounts/wallets and settlement.
- Card issuance and processing, including authorization, clearing and settlement, tokenization, controls, disputes/chargebacks and card-scheme requirements.
- Knowledge of stablecoins, blockchain-based payments or digital-asset infrastructure.
- Strong AI fluency.
