IT Asset Management Analyst – Software Asset Management

About the role

Next Generation Inc. (NGI) seeks a detail‑oriented IT Asset Analyst to manage the full lifecycle of software assets for a client in New York City, ensuring compliance and cost‑saving opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain an accurate inventory of software assets, including licenses, versions, entitlements, and usage data.
• Ensure software usage aligns with vendor licensing agreements and regulatory requirements.
• Support procurement by assisting in acquisition, renewal, and negotiation of software licenses.
• Analyze usage data to identify under‑utilized assets and recommend optimization.
• Develop and distribute regular reports on utilization, compliance, and inventory.
• Coordinate internal and external audit support for software licensing.
• Create, document, and improve SAM processes and best practices.
• Collaborate with IT, procurement, legal, and other departments.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in software or IT asset management.
• Strong understanding of software licensing models and vendor agreements.
• Excellent analytical, reporting, and problem‑solving abilities.
• High attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Experience with enterprise‑level asset management tools such as ServiceNow, Flexera, or Snow.
