Interior Electrician ($7,500 Sign-On Bonus)

About the role

The Interior Electrician maintains and repairs interior electrical systems and equipment at Washington Dulles International Airport. This journey‑level position offers a $7,500 sign‑on bonus and a competitive hourly wage.

Key responsibilities

• Install, test, troubleshoot, and maintain interior power distribution, lighting, fire alarms, public address, and emergency lighting systems.
• Repair or replace equipment such as compressors, motors (up to 1000 hp), switchgear, transformers, UPS, and variable speed drives.
• Respond to trouble calls, locate tripped breakers, and determine when to engage contractors.
• Perform preventive maintenance and ensure work complies with the National Electric Code and the Airports Authority Design Manual.

Required profile

• Four years of progressive experience in electrical maintenance or a journeyman electrician license.
• One year of specialized experience with interior lighting, emergency systems, AC/DC circuitry, and related equipment.
• Ability to work safely in airside and landside environments, lift up to 80 lb, and operate aerial lifts or forklifts.

Required skills

• AC and DC circuitry, low‑voltage systems, and internal electric distribution.
• Transformers, switchgear, motor control centers, compressors, and UPS systems.
• Fire alarm, public address, and emergency lighting installation and maintenance.
• Reading schematics, blueprints, and using electrical testing tools.
