Insurance Follow-Up Representative

About the role

Join Lehigh Valley Health Network as an Insurance Follow-Up Representative, working collaboratively with department leadership to manage open accounts receivable, resolve underpayments and denials, and support the organization’s commitment to high‑quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Review and manage open Accounts Receivable, documenting follow‑up activities to resolve underpayments and denials.
• Conduct root cause analysis of denials, recommend corrective actions, and escalate trends to management.
• Prepare reports for meetings with provider representatives and senior leadership.
• Calculate and submit adjustment and refund requests with appropriate codes and documentation.
• Identify patient out‑of‑pocket expenses and allocate responsibility within timely filing limits.
• Respond to emails and correspondence within 24‑48 hours and manage mail distribution.

Required profile

• High School Diploma/GED (associate’s degree preferred).
• At least 2 years of professional billing or collections experience with major third‑party payers.
• Excellent follow‑up, verification, verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of insurance contracts, regulations, and reimbursement requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and organizational abilities.
