Individual Aircraft Certification Engineer (Principal Engineer)

About the role

The Individual Aircraft Certification Engineer provides in‑service aircraft airworthiness expertise and manages certification for structural and system repair solutions on individual aircraft prior to delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and monitor the global certification process for deviations and potential issues affecting individual aircraft.
• Coordinate with Airbus delivery teams, design offices, and Aviation Authorities to prepare justifications and documentation for aircraft certification.
• Oversee the issuance of the individual aircraft Certificate of Airworthiness (FAA Form 8100‑2) and monitor regulatory changes.
• Develop and maintain certification management tools such as program plans, data matrices, and risk matrices.
• Handle exemption, waiver, and derogation requests with EASA and other authorities.

Required profile

• B.S. degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, Civil or Electrical Engineering.
• 13 years of aviation industry experience, specifically in aircraft engineering, design, certification and qualification.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and coordination skills; ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Required skills

• Aircraft certification processes and regulations (FAA, EASA, FAR Part 25, CS‑25).
• Knowledge of structural and system repair solutions for aircraft.
• Certification management tools and documentation preparation.
