Hydrographic Survey Specialist – San Rafael, CA

About the role

Woolpert is seeking a Hydrographic Survey Specialist to join its San Rafael team. The role involves conducting marine and land surveys along the California coast, with extensive field work and travel.

Key responsibilities

• Perform multibeam and single‑beam hydrographic surveys using vessel‑mounted equipment.
• Conduct GNSS topographic and control surveys, as well as terrestrial LiDAR (3D laser scanning) surveys.
• Mobilize, operate, and tow survey vessels in coastal waterways.
• Process multibeam and single‑beam data, GNSS static networks, and LiDAR point clouds.
• Generate deliverables using AutoCAD Civil 3D and related software.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in surveying, geomatics, ocean engineering, geology, geography, marine science or a related field.
• Self‑motivated, quick learner with strong problem‑solving abilities.
• Willingness to travel up to 100 days per year and work regularly in field conditions.
• Experience working on vessels and conducting hydrographic or land surveys.
