Housekeeping Supervisor

About the role

The Housekeeping Supervisor oversees daily housekeeping operations, ensuring guest rooms and public areas meet Forbes Five‑Star and Relais & Châteaux standards. The role coordinates staff, inspects cleanliness, and supports the Director of Housekeeping in delivering an exceptional guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Director with housekeeping and laundry duties, addressing guest requests promptly.
• Create and monitor staff schedules, confirm arrivals, and arrange substitutes for absences.
• Prioritize cleaning of vacant rooms, assign work, and follow up to achieve results.
• Conduct visual inspections of rooms and common areas, reporting maintenance needs.
• Maintain inventory of supplies, place orders, and verify deliveries.
• Ensure equipment is operating, perform preventive maintenance, and coordinate repairs with Facilities.
• Promote teamwork through daily communication and uphold safety, health, and legal standards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license.
• Minimum two years of housekeeping experience, including at least one year in a supervisory role.
• Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 30 lb regularly (occasionally 50 lb), and perform physical cleaning tasks.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills with guests and employees.
• Reliability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word.
• Ability to use radio communication devices.
• Competence with computer applications and basic software tools.
