Heavy Equipment Operator – 100% Travel

About the role

This position is 100% travel‑based, supporting the FAA Technical Support Services Contract across multiple U.S. regions. You will join a two‑person crew performing demolition and equipment installation for a $1.8 billion federal project.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate on‑site work as the primary point of contact, liaising with internal management and the client.
• Perform cradle‑to‑grave demolition activities, operating large excavators, backhoes and skid steers.
• Prepare and manage final inspection, close‑out paperwork, and daily job notes.
• Maintain and operate heavy machinery safely, collaborating with construction management to mitigate hazards.
• Ensure compliance with site‑specific safety procedures and federal security requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes or skid steers.
• Ability to prepare electronic expense reports and use standard PC software packages.
• Strong safety and quality background with the ability to interface directly with clients.
• Willingness and ability to travel 100% of the time and meet federal security checks.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a company credit card for reimbursable travel.
