Health Assessment II Visiting Professor (Lab)

About the role

Chamberlain University, the largest nursing school in the country, is looking for a part-time Visiting Professor to teach the Health Assessment II laboratory course in Jacksonville, Florida. The course is the second of a two-part sequence and focuses on using assessment findings in clinical decision making, including experiential practice of assessment techniques for the peripheral vascular, abdominal/gastrointestinal, musculoskeletal, neurological and genitourinary systems. The schedule is 2 hours per week, Monday to Saturday.

Key responsibilities

• Implement the College's philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes and course objectives through clinical teaching.
• Plan clinical experiences and supervise and evaluate nursing students delivering care to individuals or groups.
• Provide documented feedback on student performance and offer remediation when needed.
• Keep current on agency and clinical policies and procedures with the help of agency personnel.
• Develop and post written clinical assignments and return homework, quizzes, tests and lab work in a timely manner.
• Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of programs and the College.
• May teach didactic content under the supervision of the course coordinator and keep them informed of student and agency issues.
• Act as a professional role model and comply with regulatory rules and standards.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Nursing.
• At least 2 years of recent nursing practice as a registered nurse within the last five years.
• Professional Nurse licensure in the state of practice.
• Excellent communication skills, initiative and prudent judgment.
