Anatomy & Physiology Visiting Professor

About the role

Chamberlain University, a healthcare education provider with a College of Nursing and a College of Health Professions, is looking for a part-time Anatomy & Physiology Visiting Professor in Jacksonville, Florida. The university wants long-term relationships with instructors who bring industry experience to undergraduate and graduate students. The Anatomy & Physiology I-IV sequence (BIOS-251 through BIOS-256) covers human anatomy and physiology by body systems, from basic terminology and cell biology to the cardiovascular, immune, respiratory, digestive, urinary and reproductive systems.

Courses meet once or twice a week for eight weeks, with face-to-face sessions blended with online discussion and assignments. The position is course by course, and classes meet twice a week, Monday to Thursday, 6:00-9:00 PM or 6:00-8:00 PM.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver an approved syllabus following the local campus template, including terminal course objectives.
• Prepare, organize and regularly revise course materials.
• Use online tools and course software to make the course accessible to students.
• Communicate clearly and set expectations by publishing objectives, exam dates and grading weights.
• Ensure exam content matches course objectives and grade fairly, giving timely feedback.
• Complete other duties as assigned and comply with all policies and standards.

Required profile

• Master's degree required for all faculty positions (18 graduate hours in the subject for undergraduate teaching).
• Requisite subject matter expertise and outstanding communication skills.
• Excellent motivational and instructional skills in a diverse, non-traditional environment.
• Ability to work collegially with diverse groups.
• Additional requirements may apply due to state licensing or accreditation.

What we offer

• Expected pay of $1,120 to $7,245 per assignment, depending on education, experience and other factors.
