Associate Dean, Academic Affairs

About the role

Covista, which operates Chamberlain University, is hiring an Associate Dean, Academic Affairs in Jacksonville, Florida. The Associate Dean manages day-to-day academic operations, directly supervises assigned faculty and partners with the Dean on executing BSN program goals. The university operates on a hybrid schedule with four in-office days per week.

Key responsibilities

• Implement academic strategy under the Dean's direction and manage faculty schedules, workload and performance
• Ensure curriculum delivery standards and analyze student success data to improve curriculum, labs, simulations and workshops
• Recruit, select, onboard and retain faculty, and lead performance management through observation, evaluation and feedback
• Collaborate on academic budgets and capital requests, and coordinate with other Associate Deans at the campus
• Support clinical placement of nursing students and serve as liaison to boards, communities and internal stakeholders
• Lead program expansion and academic strategy and curriculum change, and embed Chamberlain Care and Covista culture into academic operations

Required profile

• Master's degree in nursing, or doctoral degree in nursing or medicine (preferred)
• Unencumbered professional nursing licensure
• 2+ years of nursing education experience at the bachelor level or above, and 2+ years in simulation or clinical experience
• 2+ years of leadership experience; 3-5 years in acute care, trauma, emergency or medical-surgical settings is a plus
