Head of Legal, North America

About the role

MillTech is seeking a Head of Legal for North America to lead its legal function from its new New York office. Reporting to the Group Chief Legal Officer, you will shape the firm’s legal strategy, ensure regulatory compliance and support rapid growth across the United States.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate contracts with clients, banks, partners and suppliers.
• Manage existing agreements and implement standard documents such as NDAs, ISDA/CSAs and business terms.
• Maintain HR policies, staff handbook and data‑privacy policies in line with applicable law.
• Support compliance and regulatory change projects, drafting related policies and procedures.
• Oversee client onboarding to meet legal and regulatory requirements, including documentation review and record keeping.
• Monitor US regulatory developments, act as the primary contact for regulators and external counsel, and design the compliance monitoring programme.
• Report legal, regulatory and compliance matters to senior management.

Required profile

• Proven experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
• Hands‑on experience managing compliance and regulatory change initiatives.
• Knowledge of US data‑privacy and financial‑services regulations.
• Ability to maintain and update HR and data‑privacy policies.
