About the role
The City of Bishop is seeking a part‑time Gymnastics Instructor to plan, deliver, and oversee youth and adult gymnastics classes and programs.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, implement, and conduct gymnastics classes appropriate to participants' ages.
- Prepare the activity site, manage equipment, and ensure clean‑up after each session.
- Develop written class descriptions and lesson plans for supervision review.
- Maintain class records, supply sheets, and instructional handouts.
- Enforce class rules, ensure participant safety, and administer first aid as needed.
- Report accidents, incidents, and disciplinary concerns to the Community Services Manager.
Required profile
- Ability to work effectively with children and adults.
- Calm and effective response in emergency situations.
- Pass pre‑employment live scan/background check.
- Valid California driver’s license (or ability to obtain).
Required skills
- Leadership and teaching techniques for recreational programs.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).
