Groundskeeper I – Campus Maintenance

About the role

The Groundskeeper I maintains lawns, landscaping, and ensures roadways, parking lots, and walkways are clear across the University of Arkansas campus. This full‑time, day‑shift position works outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain lawns and general landscaping to meet campus standards.
• Keep roadways, parking lots, and walkways clear and safe.
• Operate push mowers, riding lawn mowers, and weed eaters for routine grounds care.

Required profile

• At least 18 years old with ability to communicate effectively.
• Valid driver’s license in good standing.
• Prior experience (preferred one year) in groundskeeping or landscaping.

Required skills

• Operation of push mowers, riding lawn mowers, and weed eaters.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb and perform repetitive manual work.
