Grounds Maintenance Technician – Clay National Guard Center

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Technician to support the Construction Facilities Management Office at the Clay National Guard Center in Marietta. This full‑time position involves maintaining outdoor areas, ensuring they remain safe, clean, and presentable for staff and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain grounds, sidewalks, parking lots, and fencing through mowing, weed‑eating, blowing, and trash removal.
• Plant, trim, and care for shrubs and other vegetation.
• Apply pesticides and herbicides in accordance with safety guidelines.
• Operate power tools and commercial mowing equipment safely and efficiently.
• Travel to additional Georgia Army National Guard locations in the metro Atlanta area as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience in nursery, landscaping, or grounds‑maintenance operations.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to pass pre‑employment drug test and background checks.
• Eligibility to work in the United States.
• Willingness to work outdoors in extreme temperatures and perform manual labor, including heavy lifting.
