Grants Coordinator

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a Grants Coordinator to support its Sacramento and Turlock programs. In this role you will help secure public and private funding, manage grant proposals, budgets, and post‑award activities, and collaborate with program, finance, and development teams.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and prospect new funding opportunities, preparing letters of inquiry, proposals, budgets, and reports.
• Lead the development of concept notes, full proposals, and budgets, ensuring alignment with program design and high‑quality standards.
• Write and edit key sections of proposals, incorporating input from program and finance staff.
• Manage post‑award activities, including donor negotiations, contract compliance, and coordination of grant kick‑off meetings.
• Maintain accurate grant records and support sub‑award administration across multiple IRC offices.

Required profile

• Strong written communication skills with the ability to craft compelling grant narratives.
• Detail‑oriented and able to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
• Experience working in a nonprofit or humanitarian environment is preferred.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
