Global Robotic Systems Application Engineer

About the role

The Global Robotic Systems Application Engineer will support 3M's Abrasive Systems Division, driving growth through new product commercialization, application development, and close customer collaboration worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Engineer and optimize robotic abrasive solutions for major automotive manufacturers, including build, installation, start‑up and ongoing support at customer sites.
• Lead global field trials, evaluate competition practices, and develop high‑impact product/market applications using e‑tools.
• Provide technical training and e‑media resources to customers and internal teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline.
• At least three years of robotics experience in system design, integration, programming or application engineering.
• One year of experience troubleshooting and optimizing industrial applications.

Required skills

• Robotics system design and integration.
• Robotic programming, software and driver logic.
• DC electrical, I/O, servo drive and motor troubleshooting.
• Hands‑on construction and fabrication.
• Testing, evaluating and optimizing industrial processes.
