Future Talent Program – Health Economics & Data Science Intern

About the role

The Future Talent Program offers a 10‑12 week internship within Merck's Health Economics and Data Sciences (HEDS) team, part of the Biostatistics and Research and Decision Sciences (BARDS) department. Interns will work on real projects that support health economic development and gain exposure to global health policy work.

Key responsibilities

• Support quality assurance testing for budget impact and cost‑effectiveness models.
• Assist with systematic data standardization, review, and collection for economic models.
• Develop tools to enhance quality planning, submission readiness, and benchmarking activities.
• Prepare a capstone presentation summarizing internship activities and deliverables.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a Master’s or PhD program in a science‑related discipline.
• Available to work full‑time in a hybrid setting for 10‑12 weeks starting May or June 2027.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong oral and written communication skills in an international environment.
• Organizational, teamwork, and leadership abilities.
• Ability to analyze, interpret, and solve problems creatively.
• Knowledge of economic evaluation of medical interventions and health economic modeling.
