Furnace Technician

About the role

Enovis Surgical is seeking a Furnace Technician to support the manufacturing of orthopedic products in Austin, Texas. The role involves operating machinery, performing precision assembly, and maintaining furnace equipment to produce tight‑tolerance components in a medical‑device environment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate hand tools, measuring devices, and small machinery for profiling, calibrating, masking, coating, cleaning, and inspecting products.
• Apply abrasive finishes, masking tapes, and fixturing to machined and forged components.
• Inspect work with precision instruments and document results according to work instructions and engineering drawings.
• Coach and train other operators, participate in continuous‑improvement initiatives, and create NCMR documentation for non‑conforming material.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on the furnace, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent with additional vocational training.
• 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably medical‑device or ISO‑controlled.
• Strong attention to detail and quality‑control skills.
• Experience with Lean methodology, Kaizen events, and continuous‑improvement projects.
