Full-Time Sonographer (Abdominal/OB‑Gyn/Cardiac)

About the role

This position performs a variety of diagnostic ultrasound examinations under the direction of a radiologist in both outpatient and inpatient settings. The sonographer gathers patient history, conducts the scan, and presents preliminary findings to the radiologist.

Key responsibilities

• Selects, prepares, and sets up ultrasound equipment and transducers according to procedure protocols.
• Performs inspections and calibrations of equipment to ensure proper operation.
• Collects relevant patient information from records and healthcare providers.
• Maintains accurate data entry and retrieval of patient information using Windows‑based applications.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; no prior experience required.
• Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers in Abdominal, OB‑Gyn, or Cardiac ultrasound.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) certification to be obtained within two years of hire.

Required skills

• Proficiency in diagnostic ultrasound (Abdominal, OB‑Gyn, Cardiac).
• Ability to operate Windows‑based computer systems for data entry and retrieval.
• Knowledge of liver, gallbladder, aorta, spleen, kidney, bile duct, and pancreas anatomy for abdominal scans.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) skills.
