Full-Time RN – MedSurg/Telemetry – Days Shift

About the role

We are seeking a full‑time Registered Nurse to provide MedSurg and telemetry care on the day shift at St. Bernard Parish Hospital. The RN will lead patient care using the nursing process, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and uphold Ochsner’s standards of excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver patient care by applying the nursing process and adhering to the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code and Scope & Standards of Practice.
• Assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies for patients, families and interdisciplinary groups.
• Delegate, direct and assist licensed and ancillary team members, ensuring quality outcomes.
• Utilize data and evidence to promote change and achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state and local regulations, accreditation standards and Ochsner policies.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Current RN license in the state of practice and current BLS certification.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to exercise good judgment, work independently and manage time effectively.

• Proficiency with computers, software and web‑based applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
