About the role

The Surgical Stepdown Unit at Ochsner Health seeks a full‑time Registered Nurse to provide night‑time patient care. You will lead the nursing process, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and ensure high‑quality outcomes for surgical patients.

Key responsibilities

Utilize the nursing process to deliver safe, effective patient care.
Assess learning needs and implement patient, family, and staff education.
Delegate, direct, and assist licensed and ancillary team members.
Use data and evidence to drive improvements and achieve optimal outcomes.

Required profile

Graduate of an accredited nursing program; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Current RN license in the state of practice.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
No prior work experience required.

Required skills

Proficiency with computers, software, and web‑based applications.
Effective verbal and written communication.
