Forklift Operator

About the role

Dura-Line, an Orbia Connectivity Solutions business, is hiring a Forklift Operator in Salt Lake City. The role covers preparing and loading outgoing shipments of finished products, unloading incoming shipments and keeping the shipping yard and workspace tidy. It is an outdoor position, Monday to Friday, 7am-3:30pm or 9am-5:30pm.

Key responsibilities

• Load oversize and heavy outgoing shipments in an outdoor manufacturing environment.
• Unload incoming shipments, check that documents are stamped and labelled, store the product and submit to shipping personnel.
• Check outgoing shipments for defects and apply shipping labels.
• Assist the shipping technician with inventory control, including weekly, monthly and yearly cycle counts of steel reels.
• Move production and raw materials within the plant, including tape, extrusion reel returns and reel building.
• Follow company safety requirements, report unsafe conditions or broken equipment, and comply with company policies.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of forklift or heavy equipment operator experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, shipping or distribution setting.
• Preferred: 1 year of manufacturing experience.
• Familiarity with manufacturing and outdoor environments, including shipping and receiving and FIFO.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds, walk 8-12 hours and work indoors and outdoors in extreme heat or cold; the site is non-climate controlled.
• Willingness to wear required PPE at all times.

Required skills

• Basic reading, writing and math competency, including simple math for inventory and cycle counts.
• Ability to load and unload flatbed trailers.
• Understanding of paperwork and documentation requirements.
