Forensic Team Coordinator

About the role

The Forensic Team Coordinator will lead the forensic program at Lehigh Valley Health Network, overseeing patient care from emergency response through hospital treatment. Reporting to nursing leadership, this role collaborates with physicians, EMS, legal teams, and community agencies to ensure high‑quality forensic services.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily forensic team operations, including scheduling, payroll, evaluations, and training.
• Develop evidence‑based protocols for forensic patient care across the continuum.
• Coordinate with EMS and police to ensure seamless pre‑hospital to hospital transitions.
• Engage community agencies to track metrics and improve forensic patient outcomes.
• Provide education and awareness programs for staff and external partners.
• Serve as expert witness in court when required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and SANE‑A certification.
• Minimum 4 years RN experience in acute care.
• Current state RN license (PA) and required life‑support certifications.
• Strong communication, problem‑solving, and organizational abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Experience using electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
• SANE‑A (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner‑Adult) certification.
• BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications.
