Food Service Lead

About the role

The Food Service Lead is responsible for managing day‑to‑day dining facility operations, ensuring safe and healthy food preparation for staff. This role involves meal planning, inventory control, vendor ordering, and collaboration with base personnel and contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain daily dining operations, including meal planning and menu development featuring the five food groups.
• Perform inventories, order food from vendors, and ensure compliance with safety and health standards.
• Oversee local, national, and subcontractor personnel, providing training and support.
• Track food service requirements, create status updates, and recommend improvements to program leadership.
• Travel up to 90% of the time to austere locations in South Asia, including deployments of up to six months.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in the food service industry.
• 2+ years in food service management, cost control, budgeting, and production scheduling.
• Experience working with U.S. and local national contractors in austere environments.
• Knowledge of U.S. and DoD Air Force food and health regulations (AFMAN 48‑147_IP, AFMAN 34‑240, TB MED 577, Tri‑Service Food Code).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
