Food Service Lead

About the role

The Food Service Lead is responsible for managing day‑to‑day dining facility operations, including meal planning, inventory, and ordering to ensure safe and healthy food delivery for staff.

Key responsibilities

• Develop daily healthy menus featuring the five food groups for each meal.
• Oversee local, national and sub‑contractors, providing training and assistance to mess personnel.
• Track food service requirements, create status updates, and recommend improvements to program leadership.
• Maintain compliance with U.S. and DoD food and health regulations.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in the food service industry.
• 2+ years in food service management.
• Experience working with U.S. and Local National contractors in austere environments.
• Ability to travel up to 90% of the time, including deployments of up to 6 months.
• Secret security clearance.

Required skills

• Knowledge of AFMAN 48-147_IP, AFMAN 34-240, TB MED 577, and Tri‑Service Food Code.
• ServSafe certification or equivalent food safety training.
