Food Service Employee – Youth Challenge Program (YCP)

About the role

The Youth Challenge Program at Fort Stewart seeks a Food Service Employee to support its mission of helping at‑risk youth earn a GED and life‑skills training. You will work in a residential campus kitchen, preparing and serving meals while maintaining a safe, clean dining environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals using specialized kitchen equipment.
• Serve and distribute food to program participants.
• Clean kitchen, equipment, and dining areas following sanitation standards.
• Assist with extracurricular activities as needed.
• Work rotating weekly shifts, including some weekends.

Required profile

• Minimum six months experience in food preparation, cooking, or serving.
• ServSafe (Safe Serve) certification.
• Basic computer software usage skills.
• Ability and willingness to work with at‑risk youth and participate in program activities.
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts.
