Financial Aid Assistant Director (SSP IV)

About the role

Reporting to the Director of Financial Aid, the Financial Aid Assistant Director is a member of the Financial Aid and Scholarships leadership team at California State University, Fresno. The role provides oversight of high‑volume processing functions, ensuring compliance with federal, state, CSU and campus regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise teams responsible for accurate, timely and compliant financial aid processing and system operations.
• Translate regulatory and business requirements into system configurations, processing schedules, quality‑control practices and staff procedures.
• Ensure financial aid data supports accurate awarding, disbursement, reconciliation and reporting.

Required profile

• Ability to interpret complex financial aid regulations and apply them to operational circumstances.
• Proven experience overseeing staff, organizing workloads, establishing priorities and ensuring accountability.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills, with the capacity to produce clear documentation for technical and non‑technical audiences.
