Field Service Technician

About the role

The Field Service Technician will perform basic maintenance, troubleshooting, installation and commissioning of gas compression packages, both internal combustion and electric-driven. This entry‑level position provides hands‑on experience under direct supervision with the goal of progressing to a senior technician role.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in rebuilds, overhauls, and repairs of compressors, engines, and controls in the field, often under adverse conditions.
• Support installation of new units, including commissioning, start‑up inspections and mechanical inspections using specialized tools.
• Submit accurate field service reports, expense reports, timesheets and other required paperwork daily.
• Participate in an on‑call rotation, provide emergency repairs and respond to recurring problems.
• Travel multi‑state on short notice, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED; 3–5 years of relevant experience.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass drug screen, background check and physical testing.
• Own basic hand tools and ability to lift at least 50 lb.
• Willingness to work in various climates, stand, kneel, bend and stretch around pipeline equipment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with a focus on safety and HSE compliance.

Required skills

• Use of micrometers, pressure gauges, electronic diagnostic equipment, dial indicators, laser alignment tools, feeler gauges, digital volt‑ohm meters and hydraulic torquing equipment.
• Basic computer applications: Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Understanding of gas and oil properties, conditions and theories.

• $1,000 per month living allowance for local positions (Williston or Muncy, PA).
• Relocation assistance up to $10,000 (paid 50% upfront, 50% after proof of new address).
