Field Service Technician

About the role

The Field Service Technician provides 24/7 on‑call field service, troubleshooting and training for mechanical, electrical and electronic equipment such as decanters, high‑speed separators and heat exchangers. The role is remote‑based in the Northeast US but requires frequent travel to customer sites to ensure reliable operation and optimal performance.

Key responsibilities

• Execute basic maintenance and minor repairs on selected products at customer locations.
• Investigate and resolve technical problems on site, following the FSE Handbook.
• Prepare service jobs, write on‑site service reports and obtain customer signatures.
• Update service execution IT systems with relevant information and report safety incidents.
• Capture installed base data, communicate sales leads and provide proactive spare‑part recommendations.
• Perform services in company Service Centers when required.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree with a strong mechanical background.
• Over 5 years of experience in similar field service roles, preferably with transmission‑system expertise.
• Strong mechanical, electrical and electronic troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, customer‑service orientation and ability to work independently.
• Basic PC skills in Word and Excel and ability to use service administration systems.
• Willingness to travel up to 70% of the time and comply with OHSA safety requirements.
