Quality Manufacturing Inspector

About the role

Moog is seeking a Quality Manufacturing Inspector to join its Space and Defense Group on the 3rd shift in Buffalo, NY. The role supports the manufacturing process by performing precise inspections of fabricated and machined parts, ensuring compliance with engineering and military specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Run CMM inspection programs and perform manual inspections on simple to complex components.
• Assist machinists with inspection equipment usage, drawing interpretation, and quality‑related activities.
• Conduct precision inspection operations using surface plates, height gauges, gauge blocks, and indicators.
• Inspect complex parts with multiple features and maintain daily machine calibration and probe qualifications.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED (preferred) with ability to follow written and computer work instructions in English.
• At least 3 years of experience in a quality/manufacturing environment, including 1+ year operating a CMM (preferably Zeiss).
• Demonstrated understanding of GD&T and drawing interpretation.

Required skills

• CMM operation and programming (Zeiss preferred).
• Manual inspection techniques using surface plates, height gauges, gauge blocks, and indicators.
• Calibration and probe qualification procedures.
• Basic arithmetic and computer‑based work instructions.
