Actuation Systems Chief Engineer

About the role

As part of the Moog Space and Defense Group, the Actuation Systems Chief Engineer serves as the technical leader responsible for ensuring product integrity, technical excellence, and strategic technology advancement across a portfolio of sophisticated actuation systems. This highly influential role combines technical leadership, customer engagement, product stewardship, and engineering mentorship.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the technical authority for actuation system products throughout the full product lifecycle.
• Lead technical execution of complex aerospace and defense programs with multidisciplinary teams.
• Develop and maintain technical standards to ensure performance, reliability, safety, and manufacturability.
• Ensure compliance with Moog processes, customer specifications, and industry standards.
• Provide technical disposition for production and field issues, including corrective actions.
• Mentor engineers and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and technical excellence.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Systems Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of engineering experience leading design, development, qualification, and lifecycle support of complex actuation systems.
• Demonstrated technical authority for complex engineering products and programs.
• Deep knowledge of actuation, motion control, electromechanical, hydraulic, and servo systems.
• Strong expertise in systems engineering, requirements management, risk assessment, verification, validation, and configuration management.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to engage customers, leadership, and engineering teams.
